Welcome to the
2006 Cuetec Cues WPBA Nationals. We started the week off with our yearly
awards presentations. Carol Clark received the Presidents Award for her
WPBA work above and beyond the call of duty. If she looks like she is
crying,.........she is.

Jennifer Barretta was just singing that favorite old song, "I
won the Tournament Directors award, and you guys didn't" The T.D. Award is
given the the player who has shown the most sportsmanship and professionalism
during the year.

Megan
receives the "Most the Improved Player" award from Ramona Biddle.

Newcomer, Xiaoting Pan,
recieves the "Rookie of the Year" award. Xiaoting started the season
ranked below 64th and prior to the final event she was ranked 15th.
Now that's some year!!!!!

Congratulations
to Belinda Campos Calhoun, here with her sister, Yvonne "Bonnie" Campos, on
being inducted to the WPBA Hall of Fame.

Of course, serious work had to be done in the annual WPBA
business meeting. Ewa Laurance and Vicki Paksi congratulate (?) newly
elected board member Dawn Hopkins.
Then, it was time to start thinking 9-ball. Just ask
Melissa Herndon.

or Jeanette Lee......

Imagine being in your first professional
tournament and having to play Allison Fisher. Thats just what Kim Jones
had to do. Welcome to the WPBA.

So we finally
reach finals day. We are expecting 80 MPH winds today in Lincoln City, but
inside the tournament room...its the calm before the storm. Allison Fisher
plays....

Kelly Fisher in the
first step towards the 2006 Cuetec Cues 9-ball Nationals.

As if playing under
pressure isn't bad enough. Imagine playing against that guy or gal you
really want to beat at your local billiards club...........but add a room full
of spectators and three cameras at your back!!

Give yourself a hand Ally,......you're in the finals!!!!
Between rounds, and award
was given to Hank Hayes of Simonis Cloth in honor of his years of support for
the WPBA. Thanks, Hank!

Semi 2. Karen Corr vs.
Ga-Young Kim -
Karen Corr at the office.

Who says Karen never shows
emotion.

One definition of a hard days work
is having to beat Karen Corr to play in the Finals.

This is what a
happy Ga-Young Kim looks like as she prepares for the finals after defeating
Karen 7-5.

In
the finals, you're going to have to cross a lot of bridges to get the
title. Doesn't matter if your Ga-Young or....

Allison
Fisher.
