Welcome to the 2007 Great Lakes Classic held, for the
3rd year, at the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, IN. Thanks
to the great staff and support people.

And by
the way, when you visit, you really must stop in at William B's.
Without quesiton one of the best restaurants at any venue we attend. Just
ask for the Chef's Special, whatever it is, you will love it. Tell Patrick,
the manager and host, that you heard it here first!

After last
month's event quite a few questions came in to the web site concerning
tables. Yes, we get new Brunswick tables for each event. Yes, they are
assembled on site. Yes, they always have new Simonis 860 cloth. In this
case, the table used is the fabulous Brunswick Gold Crown IV. Our
players expect to play on the best equipment and our sponsors provide the
best. If you would like to find out more detail about these or our other
excellent sponsors, go to the front page and click their link.

A Player's meeting starts each
event. Here Jeanette Lee has the floor as she speaks to the other
players.

After the
meeting players still had a few things to discuss. Megan Minerich and
Jeanette Lee talking things over.

Hors
D'oevre's were available and some players even broke off into their own
pow-wow. Can you imagine what you could learn about pool from; Jennifer
Barretta, Melissa Morris, Melissa Herndon, Xiaoting Pan, Hsin Huang, and
Ga-Young Kim.

Then it's time to go to work. BCA Hall of
Famer, Ewa Laurance lines up the 8-ball. Yes, the nine ball followed right
afterwards.

Wendy Jans of
Belgium, options, options, options.

2006 Regional Tour
Champion, Amanda Lampert.

Morgan Minerich sites a
long shot. Successfully executed by the way...

Miyuki Sakai
says, "Dai-mondai". Japanese for, "that darned 4-ball".

Finally the field was cut down to TV day.
Semi 1 was 2006 Rookie of the year Xiaoting Pan against Kwikfire Kelly
Fisher. Kelly tried to pull off a win,.....

But that
darned ol' rookie kid just kept coming, and pulled off the win.

Semi 2 saw our most recent winner Ga-Young Kim using a little
body english to try and gain advantage.

Helena Thornfeldt using exceptional skills, both mental and
physical, pull off an exceptional victory.

That set
the final stage for Helena and Xiaoting to battle for the win. Helena put
in a great showing:

But
Xiaoting stretched out quite a lead, resulting in her first WPBA
victory.

No rest for WPBA
players, as Helena gives an interview following the event.

And one final shot of a very proud Xiaoting Pan, our newest
WPBA Champion, welcome to a very exclusive club.
